Steve was born and raised in the mid-western city of Tiffin, Ohio.  He currently resides in Evans, Georgia.  He has had a very diverse career within federal services as well as private business and industry. Education: Bachelor of Science, Criminal Justice

Achievements: Commander’s Award for Civilian Service, Achievement Medalfor Civilian Service, 20 Achievement and recognition awards with DOE, Aviation Management Professional of the Year, GSA Aviation Program of the Year, DOE Aviation Program of the Year (4 years), Outstanding Community Service Award; Foreign Award: Russian MVD Internal Army and Police Excellence Service Medal.

Consultant (self-employed):  2007-2012: consultant to both private industry and the federal government on nuclear and petroleum security, terrorism, emergency services, and aviation safety and management. 

Highlights of his career:  Vietnam War: defending Pleiku Air Base during attacks by enemy forces during the 1968 Tet Offensive.  Cold War: leading executive protection missions in high-risk countries such as Beirut, Lebanon; DOE: leading transportation security missions of nuclear spent fuel from foreign countries to the U.S. as part of the nation’s Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. After 911: FBIs Southeastern Joint Terrorism Task Force working on teams consisting of, investigators, analysts, linguists, SWAT experts, and other specialists from of local, state and federal agencies.  

Retirement:  2012-Present. Volunteered at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Augusta, GA; National Veterans History Project, and the Columbia County, GA, Emergency Management Agency. Member: Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 192, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12190 (Junior Vice Commander), Military Police Regimental Association (Life Member), Vietnam Veterans of America (Life Member), Vietnam Security Police Association (Board of Directors/Historian/Life Member), and the Pleiku Air Base Vietnam Association (Board of Directors). Post Retirement Award: U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Volunteer Service Awards; Warrior Medal of Valor from the First Nation People of the United States of America.
